Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced Information Resources Manager to join our Global Research & Library team in London.  The Global Research & Library team is responsible for the management of c250 online contracts, working independently within firm guidelines to mitigate risk, liaising closely with our In-House Legal, Procurement, and Finance teams as needed. This a key position within the team working closely with the Global Head and the senior management team.

The Information Resources Manager oversees our policies and processes for managing contracts and provides advice and guidance to colleagues globally. The post holder is also directly responsible for contracts for the core information resources purchased globally as well as some for individual offices, working closely with users, stakeholders and vendors.

We have a range of cost allocation models that the post holder must review and update as use of the online resources evolves. The role involves extensive analysis of our use of products, reporting on the online information costs and income of the department and developing new approaches to suit our growing client base.

Role and responsibilities
Management of online resources

  • Management and monitoring of policies and processes for contract management and cost allocation.
  • Providing advice and guidance to colleagues in the management and negotiation of contracts.
  • Continuous review and analysis of online resource usage to minimise costs and maximise ROI.

Management of key vendor relationships

  • Identifying opportunities for centralizing contracts across the firm.
  • Managing global vendor relationships to address local and global needs of the firm.
  • Establishing standard reporting on usage and costs.
  • Supporting and advising colleagues in the management of vendor relationships

Direct responsibility for cross jurisdictional and local office contracts

  • Managing the trial and evaluation of information resources.
  • Establishing relationships with stakeholders and users.
  • Producing business cases and recommendations on purchases and allocation models.
  • Ongoing management of resources including monitoring usage and content / functionality developments.
  • Developing processes for the management of these information resources within the team.
  • Maintaining central sources of information on the available information resources within the firm.
  • Liaising with colleagues to organise training and promotion.

Finance and budgeting responsibilities
Regarding online products and costs:

  • Liaison with Finance for the correct allocation of costs and resolution of invoice issues.
  • Continuous review and improvement of cost allocation models; negotiating and communicating outcome with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Managing and reporting on online budgets as required.
  • Reporting on the function’s costs, savings and income.

Key requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the information market, in particular the evolution and development of online product agreements and pricing models
  • Experience in a similar role within a commercial environment
  • Experience within a legal or professional services environment preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen and expertise in the negotiation of legal terms and conditions for online products
  • Analytical and numerate, able to present and report data effectively leveraging appropriate tools
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and vendors
  • Solutions-oriented
  • Strong project management skills; capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines
