Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Global Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our London office. Reporting to the Senior Environmental Sustainability Manager, this role will be an integral part of the Sustainability Team, providing support to their colleagues and the business, as well as owning a range of environmental programmes. The purpose of the role is to take ownership of a range of initiatives stemming from the firm's Sustainability Strategy, focusing primarily on decarbonisation programmes and bringing in expertise in Biodiversity and Nature-related risks and opportunities.
You must be a proactive and motivated individual and have the ability to reach and work with various types of stakeholders within the business and incorporate all new workstreams into standard day-to-day operations of the Firm. The role will be supporting the strategic direction and coordinating various Environmental Sustainability activities and projects globally.
You will feed into development, implementation, and monitoring of strategies and programmes to ensure continual improvement across all environmental aspects of the firm’s operations. The role will also have key working relationships with the Senior Managers and Managers across the business.
Role and responsibilities
- Provide global coordination of local environmental activities (including untypical data collection) and support to global impact reporting.
- Lead and or support development and rollout of global environmental initiatives around Biodiversity and Nature.
- Support the overall Supply Chain engagement / Responsible Supply Chain programme and, where appropriate, own related projects and initiatives.
- Redesign and run our global Green Champions network - take ownership of communications, coordination, support and project reporting.
- Feed into annual disclosure projects, including annual reporting and CSRD, CDP and others, as required
- Provide ad-hoc Sustainability support to the business in the areas of Real Estate Sustainability and operational initiatives.
- Contribute to responding to client queries and the tender, relationship and client audit stages.
- Take responsibility for managing and delivering new starter inductions.
- Represent the Sustainability Team and Business Services as required.
- Drive new ideas and initiatives in cooperation with the rest of the Sustainability Team.
- Provide support to the team as required.
Key requirements
- Experience of operating at a manager level with an environmental background.
- Experienced in managing data streams and sustainability data management systems.
- High levels of drive for results, use of performance management and metrics.
- Highly developed engagement skills, able to communicate and influence across various levels within an organisation.
- Excellent understanding of environmental sustainability legal and statutory frameworks.
- Excellent understanding of Biodiversity and Nature-related frameworks
- Full/working towards Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or equivalent is an advantage.
- Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility-related qualifications are an advantage.
