Job Details
Our Employment team is highly regarded by Chambers & Partners for its expertise in handling the full spectrum of employment matters for national and international companies. We have a large team of experts providing a broad range of advisory support and representation to our impressive FTSE 250 client base.
We're now looking for an experienced Immigration Lawyer to join the team based out of Newcastle, Leeds or Southampton. You may in addition be an Employment law expert, but that is not essential.
What will you be doing?
You will be providing corporate immigration advice to our clients, both in the UK and overseas, on a variety of business immigration matters. As well as supervising members of the team as they handle day-to-day immigration matters such as right to work and business visitor visas, managing sponsor license applications and compliance, you will be delivering the more complex immigration advice and support which will include advising on the immigration aspects of corporate transactions, carrying out compliance audits, acting for clients to defend civil penalty notices and warnings, and advising on the full range of global mobility visas. You may also undertake contentious immigration work and will deliver engaging client training and speak at events on all things immigration.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced immigration lawyer to make a significant impact where you'll be supported by a tight knit, friendly team with a collegiate approach and a firm wide commitment to development.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
You'll need to be a team player whilst also being pro-active in using your initiative and driving matters forward. The ability to build lasting relationships with our clients, excellent communication and inter-personal skills are also key. You'll be part of a growing team so that means plenty of opportunities to develop your business development skills; an important aspect for all of our lawyers.
To be successful in this role you will need as a minimum:
- At least 7 years of post-qualified experience as an England & Wales Solicitor.
- A strong background of both personal and corporate immigration law.
- Experience managing a full immigration caseload, gained from a large regional or city firm.
