Job description
We are recruiting for a Senior Internal Communications Manager for our London Office.
Role purpose
The Senior Manager, Partner Communications & Global Projects, plays an integral role in A&O Shearman’s central internal communications team. It is a role critical to support A&O Shearman’s integration post-merger, and to deliver key elements of the firm’s new strategy by connecting partners to the firm’s aims, vision and values – and to each other.
Role and responsibilities
- Implement a partner communications and engagement strategy for our c. 800 partners globally.
- Support the Global Internal Communications Lead in connecting partners with the firm’s new strategy and their role in helping to deliver it.
- Amplify strategic senior leadership communications across the partnership to increase engagement.
- Support the Global Internal Communications Lead in delivering the program of leadership communications, including firmwide townhalls.
- Equip partners with an understanding of what the A&O Shearman platform can deliver for clients, and help bring the voice of the client into the firm.
- Develop key partner communications channels, such as monthly global partner forums and the Partner Portal, as well as a content strategy for these aligned to the new firmwide strategy.
- Deliver the internal communications elements of the Global Partners’ Conference every two years.
- Build the internal communications and engagement plan to support development of the firm’s leadership center.
- Implement listening and data-led processes that continuously measure impact and partner engagement, in line with the broader communications KPIs.
- Support the wider internal communications team with campaigns and projects as required.
- Take a campaign approach to major communications initiatives to ensure opportunities are being fully realized across all channels.
- Assist in writing and editing communications as required (e.g. articles, interviews, and surveys).

- Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong interviewing skills.
- Great networking and advocacy skills; able to build relationships with stakeholders internally.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Track record as a problem solver with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Able to operate autonomously.
- Strong sense of teamwork.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of SharePoint, MS Teams and willingness to learn other systems, e.g. Vuture, Viva Engage, video editing.
- Ability to conform writing/images to house editorial and brand style guidelines and educate others about these rules as needed.
