What sort of work? We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Talent Development Senior Manager to join our HR team, based in either our Bristol or Exeter offices.
This is a strategic role, focused on creating and nurturing a high-performance culture and developing the skills required for excellent client service and sustained growth. Key focus areas for delivery will include:
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to define capability needs and to design, implement and manage learning and development programmes to promote personal growth and ensure that partners and employees have the necessary skills to contribute to the firm's success.
- To promote a coaching culture within the firm and manage the firm's external and internal coaching programmes and relationships.
- To build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including senior leadership, the wider HR team, Business Support functions and external suppliers.
- To develop and maintain an external professional network to keep abreast of innovative ideas and stay up to date with best practice.
- To ensure compliance with SRA and statutory/regulatory training.

Who are we looking for? We are looking for somebody who will understand our values and thrive in our culture. The role will be based in our Exeter or Bristol offices, with occasional travel between our other offices as required. Previous experience of working in a professional services environment is important but not essential for this role. Other desired experience is as follows:
- Previous experience of managing a team in a similar L&D role with an understanding of the full L&D life cycle and the implications for designing instructional content.
- Proactive and consultative approach in respect of creating and delivering L&D strategy.
- Able to work collaboratively and to build and maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrable experience of managing a variety of stakeholders both internal and external.
- Proven track record in project and people management in a learning and development, consulting, or knowledge role.
- Considerable experience designing, delivering, and evaluating development programmes and measuring the impact of learning.
- Excellent organisational skills, demonstrate examples of multi-tasking and an ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Curiosity and appetite for variety and leading/managing change. Able to use initiative and to prioritise and plan, while considering changing business needs.
- High quality standards, demonstrable commitment to excellence and strong attention to detail.
- Persuasive, with excellent written and oral communication skills, including formal and informal presentation skills.
- Strong IT Skills (Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook).
Other skills required include:
- Learning & Development, organisational development, or other HR qualifications (e.g. CIPD)
- Coaching experience or accreditation would be an advantage, but not essential.
