We have an exciting opportunity for an Environment, Health and Safety Apprentice to join the Facilities team based in our Bristol Office.
What does the team do?
Our Facilities Services team are one of the many teams that keep our business running smoothly. A key cog in the organisation, the team ensures we have a great office environment to work in, the facilities we need to be successful and ensuring both environmental and health & safety compliance across the Firm. Based in the Bristol office, you'll work closely with the Facilities management team to provide crucial support to the Firm whilst receiving paid on-the-job training and a formal qualification as a Safety, Health and Environment Technician (level 3). Experience in Health, Safety & the Environment is desirable but not essential as this role offers a fantastic opportunity for training, learning and development within a skilled and experienced team.
What will you be doing?
The role requires someone who is resourceful, organised and can offer a collaborative approach in their work. The successful applicant will undertake an extremely varied workload with the opportunity to get involved with a wide array of duties whilst ensuring compliance of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation across the business. The successful applicant will demonstrate enthusiasm and a can do attitude and will be a core member of the facilities team working closely with internal and external stakeholders, internal colleagues and other departments to build effective working relationships. No two days are the same and duties include:
- Collating data from various sources to produce Health & Safety reports.
- Researching Safety, Health and Environmental Issues and best practices and reviewing updates of health and safety regulations.
- Updating internal documentation and assisting with in house auditing processes.
- Learning and assisting with risk assessments, inductions, and training
- Attending internal meetings to take minutes and produce action plans.
- Acting as a point of contact to update documents and internal HSE intranet site.
- Maintaining relationships with key supplier contracts and working with a wide network of 30+ reps to encourage office engagement and idea sharing.
- Taking a proactive approach working on internal and external environmental initiatives.
- Supporting the embedding of Health, Safety & Environmental values and procedures.
- Supporting key Facilities projects such as ISO 45001 certification.
The role may require occasional travel to other offices for audits, training, events, and team support.
What are we looking for?
Whilst experience isn't essential, what is important to us is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Although, to be successful in this role you'll need as a minimum – strong IT skills and the ability to work well within a team.
It would be great if you have customer service experience, however this is by no means essential.
