The Department

Our Business Development team is firmly embedded within the business and works closely with our partners offering a real expertise in winning new business and delivering an excellent client experience. Our success comes from really understanding our clients, their businesses and sectors and working in strategic partnership with them. But that's not enough. We know that to secure new business and further growth, we have to really differentiate ourselves in a crowded market - our Business Development team is crucial to this strategy.

The Team

The Bids team project manages the delivery of our bid and proposal processes, and co-ordinates strategically significant firm-wide pitches and panel reviews. The team assists with new opportunities to help to penetrate the firm's sectors and key client relationships, and develops and constantly improves the model for best practice in new business bids to maximise the return on time and investment in this area.

The Role

We are looking to fulfil two Senior Bids Executive roles. The successful candidates will work closely with the entire Bids team to deliver the bid process from initiation to implementation and post-process debrief / follow up.  You'll work as a tightly-knit team to develop and deliver compelling and high-quality responses to new business opportunities, ensuring that the firm submits a pitch of the highest quality, and that success rates – and the firm's return on investment – are maximised.  You will be working with colleagues across the firm in multiple locations and different roles to bring together the different elements of the pitch, so day-to-day you will be building relationships and providing clear guidance on the bid process.

The Person

To be successful in this role you'll need as a minimum:

  • experience of end-to-end bids management, working with marketing/technical teams to produce successful and profitable bids and tenders, whilst working to non-negotiable, often in parallel deadlines
  • experience of leading on the drafting of tender responses – whether for one-off/volume standard bids with supporting credentials or for more strategic and Framework/panel submissions responses, and
  • experience of working in a business development / marketing / procurement role.

In terms of location, this role can be based in any of our regional offices (Bristol, Plymouth, Southampton, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh). We operate a hybrid working policy and most full-time employees typically spend around 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home - however we operate a very flexible approach in practice.
