Right now, our award-winning Corporate team is looking for an experienced Corporate Partner to join and help lead the growing team in Bristol.

You are likely to be a partner with a strong reputation in the South and South West at a top tier firm looking to make the next career step up to a team leadership role. We have assembled a strong team of Corporate specialists in Bristol to work with you, including brilliant senior associates and a Corporate Tax partner, and now need a lead Partner in Bristol to help take the team to the next level.

A reasonable following is desirable for this role, and you will be at a stage in your career where you already have a successful track record of client relationship management and business development. We are open to specialists or generalists, but with our Destination 2030 Strategy placing a major focus on the sustainable economy, our Private Wealth strengths and our tech and VC/private Equity practice, we are well placed to accommodate a national leader in these areas, alongside M&A and Corporate Finance.

The Team

Our highly acclaimed Corporate team of more than 25 specialist lawyers advises clients across the UK, US, EMEA and beyond – on capital markets, M&A, management buyouts, impact investing, energy projects and VC and Early Stage fundraising.

We act as advisers for exciting start-ups, entrepreneurs and established players in natural capital, agritech, energy transition, healthcare, financial services, consumer goods, leisure and real estate.

We have a strong high level tech expertise across a range of sectors and our distinctive Private Wealth approach means our business owner and investor clients receive an integrated full service for their personal and tax needs too.

We have established a unique UKBAA Business Angel network for the South West, mainstream, to connect HNW angel investors with exciting early stage SEIS/EIS type investments, and a related incubator, miVentures, for scale up clients.

With broad market experience and niche expertise, a global network of connections and a collaborative approach, we’re adept at pushing deals through the most challenging commercial pressure points.

The Role

You'll have the opportunity to genuinely shape your own practice, plus more autonomy than you’re probably accustomed to, in a firm with a clear plan that is really going places.

The role will be focused on working collaboratively with members of the Corporate team who use Bristol as their base, as well as the wider SW market and professional intermediaries that we work with.

We take a flexible, agile approach to working patterns. As a team we agree together on the best working arrangements that will enable each of us to provide exceptional client service, to collaborate and connect with colleagues. Our people in the Corporate team often choose to split their time spent in the office with time working from home, flexing their time in the office up or down according to client and team needs. The role will also involve regular travel to our London, Cheltenham and Exeter offices and our clients across the UK and beyond.
