Our highly regarded Corporate team is growing and we are seeking lawyers at all levels (Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate) to join our network of offices in the South West (Exeter/Bristol/Cheltenham).
What sort of work? Working for clients across the UK and Internationally, as well as key national clients and individuals, you'll be advising a wide range of clients from start-ups to listed companies on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and public and private capital investments working alongside some of the best corporate partners in the region. There is an opportunity to work with our MAINstream business angel network and MiVentures, our innovation support programme, and to do Equity Capital Markets and Emerging Markets/Impact Investing work for some amazing clients.
Why this team? You will be working directly with corporate partners recognised by the profession for their expertise and commercial approach. This is an opportunity to work on a wide range of corporate transactions and involve working with the large City law firms and many of the well-known mid-market investment banks.
How do we work? We take a flexible, agile approach to working patterns. As a team we agree together on the best working arrangements that will enable each of us to provide exceptional client service, to collaborate and connect with colleagues. Members of the team tend to work at least 2-3 days a week in the office, with the balance of time spent working from home. We pride ourselves on our high-performance culture whilst offering a good work/life balance.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for an individual who will understand our values and thrive in our culture.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years' PQE
- Solid experience in sectors where we have a strong national reputation, such as the Sustainable Economy, Impact Investing, Financial Services, Private Wealth, Real Estate, Consumer Goods/Brands and International
- Strong interpersonal skills, being an effective communicator at all levels (written and verbal)
- A commercial, pro-active and professional approach to work
- Excellent drafting skills
- The ability to master their business development skills and professional networks as well as their legal expertise
- Self-confidence, initiative, and be an innovative thinker
- Self-motivation and commitment to working towards goals with strong enthusiasm and career commitment
