Job Details
It's no secret that we're an ambitious firm and our vision and our culture truly reflects that. At the heart of this is an outstanding client experience, something that Womble Bond Dickinson prides itself on, and it's something that we've become so well known for.
WBD Advance Solutions brings together innovative technology and commercial services to deliver a broad range of legal services across a variety of practice areas. WBD Advance consists of over 100 personnel and includes lawyers, paralegals and legal executives, project managers, technology specialists and client co-ordinators.
The team are now on the lookout for a Technology Solutions Engineer to join them.
We're recruiting for the role directly, so no agencies please.
What will you be doing?
Technology is redefining the legal field and at WBD we make sure we're leveraging the right technology to develop and deliver more effective ways of operating. You'll be working with our dedicated legal teams and their clients to identify opportunities to use, develop and apply market leading technologies to deliver legal work in a more efficient manner.
You'll be responsible for gathering and structuring data from our clients with consideration of how their legal work flows; analysing their processes to find ways in which our technologies can provide sustainable solutions. Our lawyers will look to you to explain how it works, what benefits it will provide and then build the solution to the defined requirements. There's then the opportunity to stay engaged with the clients, continuously building in enhancements and improving capabilities.
So what are we looking for?
Ideally you'll already have spent a few years working within the legal sector in either a technology development or support role. You will work in a team of legal engineers and solutions managers. It's key that you have previous experience of supporting, implementing and/or deploying legal technology solutions.
You'll also have practical experience of working with Thomson Reuter's HighQ platform (including Contract Express, PLC and integrated products such as AI engines). What's equally as important is the ability to clearly explain these technologies and their applications to potential users is key. Experience of HTML, Javascript, Sharepoint and Microsoft Power Apps would also be welcomed.
As this is a client facing role, you'll be expected to build and maintain strong relationships, recognising what matters most to our clients, both internal and external. We're looking for a applicant who is keen to develop and build on their existing skill set and is keen to develop a career in legal technology.
What makes it great to work here?
We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!
As signatories to the Mindful Business Charter, it's important to us that our people are able to maintain healthy and happy lives, both in and out of work. We have a number of resources and initiatives designed to support health and wellbeing and we're very happy to talk flexible working, full-time or part-time working patterns.
Through our DEI initiatives we create an environment in which difference is valued. We have an Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Group, led by our Board Sponsor, which works with our colleague networks (we currently have firm supported networks for race, ethnicity, and cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women's career development and we're in constant dialogue with our people about how we expand our networks to better support everybody). Find out more about ED&I at WBD here. We encourage applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities and sexual orientations.
We are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible to all. If you have a disability or long term condition and need us to make any adjustments to give you the best possible recruitment process, please let us know by contacting the recruiter on the right hand side of this page.
We are an in-house recruitment team and will always aim to fill our roles directly in the first instance. If you're an agency, please click here for ways that you can work with us.
