Job Details
Our Leeds office has become central to the wider WBD success story. We have created a great team supporting a fantastic range of local, national and international businesses.
The recent award winning refurbishment of our Leeds office reaffirms our long term commitment to the region. It's a space where you can collaborate and connect with your colleagues and we're proud to offer a workplace that is both sustainable and supportive of your wellbeing.
The corporate team has a formidable reputation for the quality of its deals and in the last few years they have built a strong reputation as a leading M&A practice with a particular emphasis on Private Equity. They regularly advise investor clients such as LDC, Enact, North Edge Capital, Nimbus, Cairngorm Capital, Hilco and NVM.
The role
Due to continued success, the team in Leeds are seeking to recruit an additional lawyer, ideally with 4+ years PQE. The successful candidate will join an experienced and talented team of multidisciplinary lawyers who pull together to offer the best and most complete client service. You can expect a varied workload, working on a range of quality deals.
You'll be working closely with Simon Pilling, who is also our national Head of Private Equity and our Leeds Office Head along with James Cook who has developed a very strong reputation in the market for Private Equity work.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate some experience of good quality corporate work. We're keen to hear from those who trained and qualified at a city or large regional firm, but equally interested in hearing from candidates who have had good training and experience with a reputable firm but want to move to a larger firm.
The ability to demonstrate a proactive attitude to work, commercial pragmatism, and a strong team ethos will be equally as important however. The successful candidate will also be motivated to actively participate in business development activities to help develop the team's business and their own network. In return this role offers a unique opportunity to join a motivated, collegiate team with a first class reputation with clients and colleagues alike.
