We're currently looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role can be based in Bristol, Plymouth or Newcastle and falls under our hybrid working policy. Whilst some flexibility is required, most new full-time employees spend around 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

The role
You'll support our Cyber Security Officer and Cyber Security Analyst in the delivery of the IT Cyber Security services. Key responsibilities will include;
- Maintaining a knowledge of current and industry specific cyber threats and trends to support and develop the defensive capabilities of the business
- Assisting with daily security activities such as monitoring of the businesses security platforms and the triage and investigation of events and alerts through the established ticketing systems and dashboards
- Providing escalation support and contributing to the incident response process in relation to cyber security incidents (detection, containment, eradication, recovery and reporting of the incident, escalation to internal stakeholders and 3rd party specialists where appropriate and the preservation of evidence)
- Contributing to in-house and 3rd party security testing and vulnerability analysis for business systems and assets
- Contributing to the creation and maintaining of documentation for Standard Operating Procedures and playbooks for cyber security activities
- Contributing to the production of evidence for the Risk and Best Practice team to ensure that we maintain compliance with our ISO 27000 and Cyber Essentials + certifications, contractual and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining an awareness of legislation and certifications that directly influence the delivery of Cyber Security for the business
- Working closely with the Cyber Security Officer, Cyber Security Analyst and Infrastructure Manager to support project work, scoping and delivering security changes to all systems
- Keeping abreast of emerging technology and recommend future direction of the business core product improvements and other related technologies with regards to their security context
- Assisting in maintaining and developing the firms perimeter and cloud security posture
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you'll have experience of working within a legal or professional services environment. You'll also have;
- Microsoft Certifications: e.g. Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals – SC-900
- Cyber Sec Technologist Level 4
- CompTIA – Security Plus
- Experience in Compliance and Achieving and Maintaining ISO/CE+ Accreditations
- Firewall Administration experience and any associated accreditations
- Incident responder experience
