We are currently looking for an Internal Auditor to join our Risk and Best Practice team. This is a 12 month fixed term contract to be based out of our Newcastle office.

About the team

As an Internal Auditor you'll work within our risk and Best Practice team. The team helps to ensure we meet our regulatory obligations, comply with our service standards, procedures and manage our risk.

What will you be doing? 

The role will see you conducting internal audits to assess and provide assurance regarding regulatory compliance and that the firm's risk management, governance and internal controls are operating effectively.

You'll plan, organise and carry out audit work in accordance with our internal audit programme/ plan, using the opportunity to identify risks and opportunities to improve and make recommendations to support the firm's approach to continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following skills & experience:

  • Audit experience, or similar risk, compliance or governance roles.
  • High levels of attention to detail and effective analytical skills in order to absorb regulatory, audit and technical information.
  • A self-starter and also demonstrates excellent team working skills and is a committed team player who is helpful and supportive to colleagues.
  • Robust conflict management/ resolution skills and demonstrates resilience - with an ability to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Has the ability to communicate in both written and oral format in a professional, clear and concise manner and is able to adapt style to meet the audience.

You will have a passion for audit, compliance and risk management and have the ability to work well in busy and high-pressure situations.
