THE OPPORTUNITY

The Resource and Portfolio Analyst plays a key role in the management and support of the Change Portfolio.Primarily the role actively supports the management of the supply and demand of all resource related to the effective delivery of the change portfolio. Acting as the link between key resources and the project demands the role provides a capability to the entire DLA Piper business to predictably supply the resources required to deliver business and technology focused projects. Working within the Central Portfolio Management Office the role also supports other disciplines required to effectively manage a business-wide change agenda. This may include but not limited to – governance and reporting, project lifecycle management, risk management, and financial processes.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Portfolio Manager to assist in the effective supply and demand of all portfolio delivery related resource, including:
  1. To produce and align resource requirements against actual FTE and provide proposals to improve efficiency and enable delivery
  2. To be a key contact for all Stakeholders in queries relating to the FTE Modelling and planning
  3. To produce weekly/monthly reviews of the capacity and demand of the portfolio to ensure efficient and consistent delivery
  4. To take steps to resolve any conflicts with relevant Resource Leads, making sure correct allocations of resources are documented and surfaced where necessary
  5.  Ensure all modelling tools are kept up to date, are accurate
  6.  Development of appropriate toolsets to determine demand at deliverable level e.g. work packaging, sprint definition, precedent-based forecasting
  • Work with the Portfolio Manager to provide analytical support for standard portfolio management practices that cover disciplines such as risk management, financial management, project lifecycle 
  • management, governance, and reporting (to Senior Management and the Executive Board)
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and adherence to portfolio processes
  • Work with Project Managers and their teams to gather the required data, and support them with the mandatory portfolio processes
  • Assist in the administration and facilitation of project ideas through triaging and business caseproduction with business stakeholders and change managers.Work closely with and collaborate with Business Change Managers, Business Partners, and the Portfolio Manager to support the continuous improvement of business change delivery processes
