We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, engaging individual to join us as an Environment Adviser leading our London-based Environment Team.
We are recruiting for an experienced Environment Adviser to join the Environment team.
The Environment team, part of the Facilities and Operations department, is responsible for providing comprehensive environmental advice and developing and implementing the firm’s environmental strategy.
The Environment Adviser will support the Head of Environmental Sustainability, Environment Manager and wider Responsible Business team by providing environmental support to the firm.
The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9.30am to 5.30pm.
Work closely with the Head of Environmental Sustainability, Environment Manager and Responsible Business colleagues to support the implementation of the firm’s Environmental Strategy
Maintain the firm’s certified energy and environmental management systems by reviewing operating procedures, undertaking audits and maintaining non-conformance logs
Provide support in preparation for, and during, internal and external audits
Maintain environment internet/intranet pages and assist with firm wide communications and events
Responsible for data collation and reporting, including preparing statutory submissions to external organisations
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external submission/distribution
Co-ordinate environmental projects, providing management updates and liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required
Work with stakeholders to identify and implement areas of improvement and innovation across the firm
Provide appropriate advice and guidance with support from the Head of Environmental Sustainability and Environment Manager
Support the work of the Responsible Business Committee, Environment Committee and internal networks
Liaise with on-site contractors and other suppliers to ensure compliance and reduce the firm’s environmental impact
Identify potential issues/areas of risk and make recommendations/propose solutions, escalating as required
Keep knowledge up to date by attending talks, workshops and meetings and proactively seeking industry best practice
Candidates for this position must have:
Hold an environmental related degree or a have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Have practical experience of working with ISO certified management systems, ideally ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018
Demonstrate a good knowledge of current sustainability and environmental issues, including energy efficiency and waste management
Display exceptional attention to detail with good analytical skills
Have practical experience of using excel to create graphs and interrogate data
Have strong project management experience, with proven ability to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people
Demonstrate excellent organisation skills
