Job Details

We are recruiting for a Patent Paralegal to work as part of our Legal Services Unit, dedicated to supporting our patent prosecution team. We are looking for candidates with previous patent experience considering the next step in their career.

About CMS

CMS is a Future Facing firm. With 79 offices in 45 countries and 5,000+ lawyers worldwide, we combine deep sector understanding with a global overview, giving us the ability not only to see what's coming, but to shape it.

CMS is well equipped to help our clients face the future with confidence. We are driven by technology and readily embrace the possibilities it opens up for developing new and better ways of delivering legal services. Our bold approach to a changing future ensures that we nurture our employees and recruit top talent.

About the Role

At CMS we pride ourselves on providing industry leading training, guidance, support and variety of workload to ensure our paralegals are in the best possible environment to learn and develop. The aim for all of our patent paralegal team is to become full service, with technical knowledge extended across the whole range of patent prosecution. We operate a busy, dynamic, workload model, based on case-loading and teamwork. There will be huge opportunities to tackle a wide range of tasks across all of our clients from European, PCT and United Kingdom applications to foreign patents, assignments and helping to design client processes. Both teamwork and communication are a huge part of making our working model efficient and high performing. We also operate and encourage a feedback model meaning that paralegal feedback will be reviewed, and where we see value, will be implemented into our process refinements. The successful candidate can therefore look forward to really being a part of shaping how we operate in the future. We believe that the team's ideas and feedback are fundamental to us continually moving forward in the best way possible.

About You

Candidates should possess an eagerness to learn, a scrupulous sense of attention to detail, strong communication skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic environment, willingness to go the extra mile where work dictates and the ability to work and interact well within a busy team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their career and skill set within patent prosecution as our paralegals are given high levels of autonomy and responsibility.
