The role

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our IPT team has successfully worked together in recent years to assist a large number of institutional and multinational organisations, across multiple sectors including in the Technology, Life Sciences, Retail, and Financial Services sectors. This is your opportunity to be part of a growing team, which has global reach and is strategically positioned as the only full service global law firm in the Irish market.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as part of our market leading global team, candidates will enjoy a broad diet of work that will generally involve working as part of a multi-jurisdictional team and will cover all of our core services including:

  • Major sourcing and outsourcing transactions; 
  • IP advisory and strategic due diligence and related corporate transaction work;
  • Advisory work in respect of technology innovation projects involving cloud computing, open source, blockchain and artificial intelligence;
  • Data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance, investigatory matters;
  • Cyber security and risk management projects;

We do not set upper or lower limits of PQE for any of our vacancies. We have, however, given an indicative PQE as an approximate guide for applicants. Candidates who have between 3 to 8 years PQE are likely to have the right level of knowledge and have gained the right level of experience needed to be able to undertake this role. 
 
The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor, ideally qualified in Ireland or England & Wales
  • Be internationally oriented
  • Have a non-contentious focus but experience in contentious IPT work an advantage; 
  • Have strong IPT experience gained in a leading Irish, City, regional or international firm or as part of an established in-house legal team in one of our key focus sectors 
  • Have a clear strategic focus on a particular aspect of the broad IPT skill set and an ambition to develop and build that as a strategic pillar of the practice; 
  • Have a strong business development instinct and ideally a track record in identifying and winning new business; 
  • Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the technical and sectoral issues relevant to our clients
  • Draft documents using a commercial, client-focussed style
  • Comply with professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations
  • Comply with the firm's systems, policies and procedures in all matters - including compliance, financial systems and time recording
  • Recognise and seize opportunities for the firm, including repeat business;
  • Build and develop own network of internal and external contacts;
  • Be commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news; 
  • Have excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working;
  • Be aware of business development initiatives in the department and identifies ways to contribute;
  • Maintain a controlled, objective and flexible approach under pressure; and
  • Be proactive and innovative.
