Would you like to join one of the world’s most prestigious law firms?
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, technically strong and engaging individual to join us as an Associate, in our London-based Restructuring and Insolvency team.
Slaughter and May’s “proactive, commercial and pragmatic” (Chambers) Restructuring and Insolvency team provides sound advice on some of the most complex and challenging matters for companies in distressed financial situations.
Joining our R&I team, associates can expect to work on some of the most novel and challenging matters in the legal market, building client relationships and developing a breadth of financing skills along the way.
With our unbeatable culture, our multi-specialist approach, and no billing targets – you won’t have a career quite like this in other law firms.
Our Financing practice, which comprises 17 partners and around 65 associates, is split into two groups. The Restructuring and Insolvency team is a dedicated practice in one of these groups, with two partners, one senior counsel, and seven associates.
In the group, associates work with partners on a range of Financing matters including Debt Capital Markets, Securitisation, R&I, and Derivatives. The general approach is that the finance partner (or finance partners) and the associates who act for a given client will handle all of that client’s financing work. This structure leads to more regular client contact and greater involvement in clients’ broader business interests. You will therefore be in a position to build very strong client relationships from a very early stage of your career and to be involved in both the legal and commercial decision-making at some of the largest commercial organisations in the world.
While our multi-specialist approach will have R&I associates working on a breadth of financing matters in their careers, this team and position are focussed primarily on Restructuring and Insolvency matters.
The matters we work on are generally challenging and sophisticated. We do, however, aim to give associates as much responsibility and client contact as they are ready for.
