Job Details

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Womble Bond Dickinson Wealth team as a Financial Services Administration Apprentice based in our Newcastle office.

What do the Private Wealth team do?

The team are a collaboration of lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and tax specialists. The Private Wealth team have built a solid reputation for providing creative legal and tax solutions, financial planning and investment advice to a wide range of clients. Their expertise is highly regarded and ensures that our clients' wealth is protected, now and for future generations. For law firms, this is a pretty unique setup which allows us to offer our clients the very best full-service advice possible. For you, it means a breadth of experience, development opportunities and an environment that is hard to replicate in a more specialist field.

Where will you be working?

You'll be based in our enviable Newcastle location based at The Spark. You'll sit in the Investments and Pensions team who advise a wide variety of clients, both corporate and private.  The corporate advice extends to financial planning for executives, shareholders and businesses and advice relating to corporate pensions and employee benefit schemes. For our private clients, we offer financial planning advice to high net worth individuals, working closely with our legal and tax colleagues, which allows a holistic approach to ensure our clients maintain and grow their wealth.

What will you be doing?

As a Financial Services Administrator you have a crucial role to play in supporting our Planners and Advisors by taking responsibility for the implementation of their investment advice to our clients. This will involve you liaising with stock brokers, banks and other third party organisations, investing client's money, registering their stock, monitoring it's performance, reporting on how well it performs and producing valuations for clients.

What are we looking for?

Previous financial or administrative experience is not required, but an appetite for the industry is. We're looking for strong academic achievements, but a graduate level qualification is not required. This is a busy team and you'll need to be prepared to work under pressure with a high volume of work. Your communication skills will be first-class, both written and verbal, you'll be highly organised, efficient and a strong team-player.

What is in it for you?

Most of our team have developed through our internal training programme and this is something that we feel passionately about, which is great news for you because you'll benefit from the career structure that we've worked hard to establish. Whilst this is an entry level role, we're committed to developing all of our people and we're keen to support you through the apprenticeship scheme. This could see you progressing further within the Financial Administration team, or opening doors to the wider advisory team. There's a lot to get your teeth into but some fantastic opportunities for anyone looking for a unique, challenging and supportive environment.
