Purpose of role

This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced litigator (approximately 3 to 6 years PQE) to join our talented Dispute Resolution team in Scotland.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in commercial litigation and/or property litigation, strong client relationship skills, experience supervising a talented team of lawyers, and the ability and desire to develop and grow an existing portfolio of enviable clients.

This position offers exceptional career prospects with the world's largest law firm. We would be keen to hear from anyone with broad commercial litigation experience or specifically property litigation experience. Experience outside of these areas will also be considered.

Hybrid – Your place of work is one of our offices, however there is no minimum (or maximum) number of days you must work from this office. We give you the freedom to decide with your team how efficiently and effectively you can deliver the best service to our clients, work with your colleagues, and progress your own personal development whilst recognizing the need to adjust plans where circumstances require. We encourage you to discuss this with our recruitment team and your interviewers to see how the team you are interviewing with is working. You will be given an allowance to create a workspace in your own home, as well as the kit to utilize the desks at any of our offices.

Responsibilities

You will work on a variety of contentious matters for commercial clients across a range of sectors.

You will pursue opportunities to build new client relationships (in cooperation with other departments and teams) and will maintain existing relationships and inspire and support the team to do likewise.

You will contribute to thought leadership and to raising the profile of the firm externally, working as part of a passionate and supportive team on a variety of matters for an enviable client base across a range of sectors.

Required experience, skills and attributes

Technical Skills

  • You will have good experience of either property litigation or commercial litigation in Scotland, gained with a well-regarded team.
  • You will be qualified in Scots law
  • Dual qualification in Scotland and England is desirable but not essential
  • You will possess a strong academic record
  • You have the drive and ambition to develop your full potential
