Job Details

Investing in future talent is so important to our business and our fabulous Early Talent Team are now on the lookout for a Co-ordinator to join them to support the recruitment of our future generation of lawyers.

Home-grown talent is at the heart of our recruitment strategy and as an Early Talent professional there is nothing more rewarding than being able to positively impact someone at the start of their career, whether that is a first step or a career change.  Our Early Talent team are integral to identifying, developing and supporting our future generation of lawyers; working with schools to inspire young people to consider a legal career, recruiting our future trainee solicitors and working closely with them to support their development and wellbeing through to qualification.  We might be a touch biased, but we believe that we deliver a fantastic programme – not only do our clients tell us this, but a number of our partners have progressed from trainees in the firm to the current leaders of our business.

We are currently looking for an Early Talent Recruitment Co-ordinator to join us and be part of the next exciting stage in the development of our early talent strategy.  We're transitioning to qualification through the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam, and we have big plans to redesign the way in which we recruit, train and develop our future generation of lawyers – and this is a great opportunity for you to be part of that plan.

So what will you be doing?

We're looking for someone who shares in our passion for recruiting the very best talent and you'll be doing this in a number of ways, including:

  • Organising various events to help promote the firm as an employer of choice for graduates and apprentices
  • Co-ordinating the annual recruitment processes for graduates and apprentices, liaising with candidates, assessors and the Early Talent Team to ensure we run a robust and engaging process
  • Leading on the organisation of virtual assessment centres through our digital assessment centre platform, and providing support to the assessors and candidates on the day
  • Managing all administrative processes for the team, constantly looking for ways to be more efficient and effective

But it's not all about us, to be honest we're more interested in you.  We're open minded about your background but it's likely that you'll have gained some administrative experience within a recruitment or HR team.  However, if you're looking for your first step into an HR role, we'd also love to hear from you so that we can tell you all about the great opportunities for career development within our team.

At the heart of all that we do as team, is candidate and employee experience, and it's important that you share that ethos too.  Much of your role will be spent liaising with candidates or internal teams, whether that's trainee solicitors, apprentices, supervisors or partners, so an ability to build relationships and communicate effectively is essential.  Given the nature of the role, you'll need to be highly organised and efficient, but as organised as you are, not everything always goes to plan in the world of recruitment so an ability to adapt and think on your feet is crucial.   We're a busy team, but we're friendly and supportive, and we know that in order to deliver for the business we have to be able to operate effectively as one team.  We work with some fantastic people, we enjoy what we do and we have a bit of fun along the way. But importantly, we're made to feel that we're really contributing to the success of this business.

What makes it great to work here?

We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!  We like and make time for each other enabling us to establish professional relationships that can often become lasting friendships.

Through our D&I initiatives we create an environment in which difference is valued.  We have a Diversity and Inclusion Group, led by our Board Sponsor, which works with our colleague networks (we currently have firm supported networks for race, ethnicity, and cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women's career development and we're in constant dialogue with our people about how we expand our networks to better support everybody).  We encourage applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities and sexual orientations. Please get in touch to let us know how we can give you the best possible recruitment experience.

As signatories to the Mindful Business Charter, it's important that our people are able to maintain healthy and happy lives, both in and out of work.  We have a number of resources and initiatives designed to support health and wellbeing, including our team of dedicated mental health first aiders.  We recognise that getting the right work life balance is a priority for all of us and we're very happy to talk flexible working, full-time or part-time working patterns.  We also recognise the challenges of relocation and post-pandemic return to the office.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can choose and vary the benefits that matter most to you.

If this sounds like your next career move then please get in touch to find out more. No agencies please, we're an in-house recruitment team!
