We are seeking a talented, dynamic and ambitious Senior Associate to join our Commercial Team which is expanding and offers the opportunity to work with high quality clients and on exciting commercial projects.

The role and clients
The growth of our Commercial Team is such that this is a unique opportunity to join an expanding and thriving commercial practice. It is an opportunity to work alongside one of the established Partners in the group working on major projects with high profile clients including the likes of Tesco plc, Rolls-Royce plc and the Ministry of Justice.
You will be given the opportunity to lead on transactions, manage team members and develop client relationship and development skills at the highest level. The successful candidate will be closely involved in the growth of the practice alongside the Partner and able to progress their career in it.

We act as a seamless extension to our clients' management, procurement and in-house legal teams advising on strategic projects, commercial contract drafting and negotiations, assisting with precedent and legal process development and advising on day-to-day commercial contract matters.

Our Successful Candidate
We are looking for a 7-10 years PQE, English law qualified commercial lawyer to join our dynamic and thriving Commercial team and be based in our Birmingham office. The successful candidate will work alongside one of our established Partners on a day to day basis giving excellent opportunities for skills and career development.
We are seeking a well-rounded “O-shaped” lawyer. An individual who is technically excellent, commercially aware, highly motivated and enthusiastic. A team player with a can-do attitude, a strong client focused approach and an ability to 'think outside the box' and develop innovative solutions. A strong academic background coupled with excellent communication and organisational skills is also key together with good experience of supervising and working with junior colleagues.
You will have trained and worked in a large commercial practice and be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of drafting and leading the negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including on an international basis. Both public and private sector experience would be ideal and working with large scale clients is essential. A good understanding of the application of TUPE, data protection and intellectual property law in the context of long term services supply and outsourcing agreements is also necessary. You will have a keen interest in at least one of Pinsent Masons’ global sectors and a clear desire to become a true expert in your chosen fields.
