Department/Role overview:

The Financial Systems team works with the business to assist in defining and delivering the firms strategy and processes, while also providing a stable platform for day to day tasks.

Elite 3E Analyst Programmer - The successful applicant will develop new applications and modules within Elite 3E while maintaining support to the existing software and platform. The post-holder will take a key role in providing a best-in-class software development service.

This role would allow an experienced individual with commercial software development experience as a Finance Systems developer, technical lead or a similar web based system to Elite 3E to cross skill in to this role.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 5:30, however you may be required to work additional hours to facilitate project implementations or support call resolution. On-call cover will also be required based on a Rota

Main responsibilities:

  •  Provide technical support to in-house developed applications, integrations and the Elite 3E product
  •  Lead software development work-streams providing end to end ownership including; specification and design, estimation and planning, build, release and support
  •  Developing new software applications / modules / customisations in partnership with other members of the development team, business analysts and technical architects
  •  Liaise with business users as required within the role, maintaining a high level of service within all aspects of the individual's work
  •  Work collaboratively as part of a team or individually to achieve business outcomes, maintaining constructive working relationships with IT peers
  •  Unit testing software to ensure code is correct, fixing errors where they occur, and rerunning and rechecking the programme until it produces the correct results

Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

  •  Knowledge of web based software architecture and design
  •  Microsoft SQL scripting and Server
  •  Experience using Microsoft tools and programming languages such as .NET framework (Primarily NET and XML related technologies including XSLT and XPath
  •  Creating and updating technical documentation
  •  Ability to produce accurate time estimates for work to be undertaken and drive to ensure commitments are achieved
  •  Tactful and diplomatic when in pressured situations
  •  Uses initiative - 'can do' approach
  •  Quality orientation evidenced by attention to detail and high work standard
  •  Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of customers

Desired skills and experience:

  •  Previous experience in finance or legal sectors
  •  Previous experience work with financial systems such as Elite 3E
  •  Experience of working with customisable 3rd party solutions
  •  Experience in producing and maintaining reports from Elite 3E, Microsoft SSRS or similar systems
  •  Experience in multi-tier architected methodologies. Ability to apply design patterns to create structured and efficient code
  •  Experience working in a development group that develops business-critical applications
  •  Elite 3E IDE and database structures
  •  Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and above
  •  Strong background in database design, analysis and development. Awareness of current and future Microsoft technologies
