BANKING LAWYER – 0-5 YRS PQE – MANCHESTER

Brief

We are currently looking to recruit a Banking lawyer with 0-5 years PQE to join our Manchester Banking Team.

Background

We advise a broad range of lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions, including acquisition finance, asset-based lending, general corporate lending, project finance, real estate finance and structured finance which includes acting for borrowers and lenders in relation to sustainability and ESG financing in both the loan and the bond markets.  Our practice is broad and extremely varied.

Our banking and finance team deliver a high-quality legal service operating on a national basis, giving us access to a deep knowledge of current market practice.  We deliver a truly partner led service whilst also giving our lawyers responsibility to be heavily involved in our transactions and develop their skills and experience.

We have a three partner-led team in Manchester headed up by Matt Morgan who has a particular strength in corporate finance and real estate finance, with Samantha Rollason focusing on real estate finance and public sector funding and Tim Fearn specialising in acquisition finance, corporate finance and asset-based lending.

The Candidate Required

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a 0-5 years PQE banking lawyer;
  • Have experience of, and an interest in, real estate finance (both investment and development deals), corporate financings and leveraged finance transactions;
  • Have gained experience in a large commercial firm or in-house legal team;
  • Be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment;
  • Be technically strong with a willingness to undertake both structured and on the job training; and
  • Have the interpersonal skills necessary for this client-facing role and be enthusiastic about business development.

The role is wide-ranging, will focus on and include:

  • Developing on-going relationships with an existing client base as well as pitching for new opportunities;
  • Developing close working relationships with colleagues as part of an international team; and
