Brief

We are currently looking to recruit an England & Wales qualified Property Lawyer with 2-6 years' PQE to act for a range of property clients, including two of the Property Group’s key clients in the retail and housing sectors.

Ideally, the candidate will be based in Edinburgh (in our England & Wales qualified team), Manchester or Glasgow.

The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of commercial property transactions, with specific focus initially on a variety of investment sales and acquisitions, lettings and pre-lettings and commercial development work for a national operator and retailer and residential development acquisitions for an affordable housing investor.

Background

We boast one of the largest teams of dedicated property lawyers in the UK. When you instruct Pinsent Masons to act on your real estate deal, you are tapping into the combined expertise of over 240 highly skilled lawyers, including many renowned experts. Clients praise us for our commercial approach, providing clear, relevant and timely advice.

Our breadth of experience coupled with our specialist knowledge means that whether we are advising on a complex development project or on a stand-alone sale of an asset, our clients receive the legal support they require, when and how they want it.

We have an extensive track record advising on all aspects of multi-million pound developments throughout the UK.  We are able to field a cross-discipline team of lawyers who are a match for the scale and complexity of the work involved.  Our clients include major developers, funders and investors.

The team draws on our global network of offices to deliver investment and development deals regionally, nationally and internationally. The practice leverages mandates from funders, investors, occupiers and private property companies. Energy is another area of focus for the group, which handles project development, implementation and financing.

Our Edinburgh property team includes a number of lawyers and support staff working exclusively on work in England and Wales and handling a range of business, including energy, development and investment. The team is collegiate, supportive and works alongside our other property teams in all our other UK offices, but in particular in Manchester and Glasgow in relation to the clients mentioned above.  The property teams in all our UK offices operate together as one practice group, and take part in relevant firm wide training and professional development.

The Candidate Required

The successful candidate will:

  • have gained a broad range of property experience
  • be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment;

At Pinsent Masons we value diversity and inclusion. We are committed to creating a better workplace where all our talent can succeed and feel like they belong. We want to attract, retain and develop people at all levels and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates whatever your ethnicity, religion, age, physical or mental disability/ long term condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other characteristics protected by local law in the jurisdictions in which we operate.

About Us

Our clients don’t simply have legal issues, they have commercial needs. What the best lawyers do is respond to those needs with a mix of imagination and pragmatism. If a business can be made to work better, everyone benefits. This gives rise to the question ‘who makes a great lawyer’? A great lawyer is interested in business as much as law, a person who is bold enough to challenge the status quo and who sees the opportunity in championing change and promoting progress.

We integrate our trainees into working teams from day one so that, from the very beginning of their careers, they’re working alongside and learning from colleagues who, like them, are ever willing to explore solutions.

If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you. We think you’ll really enjoy working with us.
