Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Campaigns Lead to join our Marketing department on a permanent basis.

Department purpose

Our business development, marketing and communication teams contribute to the setting and achievement of the firm’s business objectives. This includes supporting our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients’ trusted advisers, building and maintaining long-lasting, deep institutional client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader and most advanced among the global elite law firms. The function works as one team across the globe with very close collaboration between the central groups – such as Communications – and professionals supporting offices, practice groups, sectors and clients.

Role purpose

The individual will help drive a step-change in the way A&O positions its services with clients. They will lead content-led/brand awareness campaigns across the lifecycle (from ideation to launch), and help design and embed best-in-class processes that increase the impact and efficiency of marketing activities. This is a new position and represents a fantastic opportunity to join A&O’s global marketing team at an exciting period in its evolution. The job offers exceptional growth potential, including the chance to play a pivotal role in the selection and development of new digital marketing channels.

Key relationships

  • Head of Content
  • Partners
  • Associates
  • Business development managers
  • Digital specialists
  • Creative team

Role and responsibilities

  • Lead strategic, multi-channel marketing campaigns that support A&O’s commercial objectives, working closely with stakeholders including partners and associates, business development colleagues and creative professionals to ensure strategic alignment, shape objectives and strategy, deliver beyond the brief and ensure projects are executed efficiently.
  • Work in tandem with the firm’s global head of content to design and embed best-in-class processes and infrastructure that will increase the impact and efficiency of campaign activities, from defining strategic objectives and theme selection through to creative execution, launch, measurement and reporting.
  • Act as an advocate for these processes (and marketing best practice more generally) across the firm, supporting colleagues to run high-impact campaigns and delivering training to upskill the global team.
  • Contribute to the evolution of A&O’s channel strategy (e.g. website, social media etc.), including playing a key role in the selection and development of new channels.
  • Work closely with the global head of content to build and develop a high-performing team. The role includes line management responsibility.

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in B2B marketing, ideally in a professional services/partner-led environment.
  • Track record of executing impactful multi-channel content-led/brand awareness campaigns.
  • Experience of designing and embedding best-in-class campaign processes and infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of how to measure the impact of digital marketing activities.
  • Strong creative, project management, communications and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously under pressure.
  • Experience of both technical execution and strategic leadership.

Who we are looking for

  • Someone who understands professional services firms, how they work and what differentiates them
  • Someone who is highly creative, organised, and dynamic, with strong written and verbal communications and influencing skills.
  • A diligent and confident self-starter who is equally comfortable getting their hands dirty on technical tasks alongside strategic development. Success in the role will require a significant degree of entrepreneurialism.
  • A strong team player.

Should you require additional support at any stage of the recruitment process due to a disability or a health condition, please do not hesitate to contact a member of Allen & Overy’s recruitment team who will work with you to provide any reasonable adjustments as required.
