Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Lawyer (5+PQE) to join our nationally renowned and expanding public sector practice (headed up by Iain Greenshields), adding to our recent local and central government lateral hires.

The team is highly successful and has a wide remit on projects in the public sector – working with public sector clients and private sector companies that contract with them. The team's client base includes local and central government, government agencies, NHS bodies, education providers, private sector contractors and consortia. We are working across a wide variety of sectors for these clients including real estate regeneration, leisure, energy, health, education, defence and waste.

The ideal candidate will likely be working in-house with a local authority or other public sector body, or within private practice as a senior lawyer with state aid/subsidy control experience.

This role is pivotal to the continuing growth and development of our public sector offering, and offers a genuine opportunity to help create, build and influence the strategy and direction of an important strand of our business from a strong platform of loyal clients. Supported by clear lawyer career framework that supports career progression to all levels, and the chance to learn from leaders in their field, this role offers a true opportunity for personal and professional growth. Working with the highest calibre clients, in a collaborative collegiate environment, we believe this is a unique opportunity for the right person.

We're flexible in terms of location and can offer either an office-based or hybrid working role, based from one of our regional offices (Newcastle, Bristol, Leeds, Southampton, Plymouth or Edinburgh).
