We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, engaging individual to join us as a Recruitment Adviser, within our London-based Human Resources Team. 

ROLE OVERVIEW 

We are recruiting an experienced Recruitment Adviser to work within the Human Resources Department. 

The Human Resources (‘HR’) department comprises the following teams - HR Advisory and Resourcing, Trainee Recruitment, Responsible Business and Inclusion, HR Operations and Learning and Development (‘L&D’). The Lateral Recruitment team sits within the HR Advisory and Resourcing function and provides a high level of service to the firm throughout the entire end-to-end recruitment lifecycle. 

This individual will provide run the operational recruitment for a mixture of legal and Business Services roles, ensuring a comprehensive, proactive and considered recruitment service to the firm. They will be report into the Senior Recruitment Manager, and will work alongside two other Recruitment Advisers, with team support from the team’s Recruitment Administrator. The Advisers also benefit from the expertise of a Resourcing Executive, whose role is a core component of our efforts to recruit via alternative, non-traditional sourcing methods. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Some of the key responsibilities of this role are set out below, though there may be others which are not listed. This role will require some flexibility and you may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm. 

 Liaising directly with the hiring managers/partners in relation to recruitment needs, including permanent, fixed term and temporary roles 

 Supporting the hiring managers/partners in identifying their recruitment needs, discussing and preparing job descriptions and the person specification appropriate for any given role 

 Advising the hiring managers/partners on the appropriate recruitment process for a role (i.e. interviews, assessments, psychometrics, etc.) while adhering to recruitment best practice 

 Sourcing candidates directly using a range of tools and technologies 

 Liaising with recruitment agencies, as required, on all stages of the recruitment process, such as arranging and hosting agency briefings, putting the role to market, salary, discussing recruitment process, arranging interviews, providing CV review and post-interview feedback 

 Tracking candidate CV submissions on the ATS whilst being aware of potential candidate ownership conflicts and data privacy issues; referring any conflicts or issues to the Senior Recruitment Manager 

 Organising and attending interviews as required 

 Taking interview feedback and providing it to recruitment agents or candidates, as appropriate 

 Supporting hiring managers at candidate shortlist stage, including providing strategic advice where required 

 Advising hiring managers or partners at offer stage, including advice on offer structure, salary level and on-boarding requirements 

 Making and negotiating candidate offers and managing buy-backs and counter offers 

 Liaising with the HR Manager and HR Support team on offer instructions 

 Setting up and managing the screening and vetting process for new starters 

 Providing the HR Managers and hiring managers with recruitment-related management information, plus information on market trends and other relevant issues 

 Working closely with the HR Support team in delivering the administration, systems and management information for the Recruitment function 

 Providing a “trusted adviser” service to all parts of the firm 

 Supporting the Senior Recruitment Manager on operational strategy and projects where required 

 Ensuring the firm is UK Data Protection Act and UK GDPR compliant in all its recruitment activities 

 All other ad hoc tasks as required 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Candidates for this position must have/be: 

 degree educated or qualified by relevant experience 

 previous recruitment and direct sourcing experience ideally in a law firm - candidates with recruitment agency experience will be considered if they have a legal recruitment background 

 excellent attention to detail and use of grammar 

 excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written, spoken and presentational 

 use a methodical and organised approach to work situations, manages competing priorities and deadlines and keeps calm under pressure 

 an enthusiastic individual prepared to take a hands-on approach to managing their workload, using their initiative and working to deadlines 

 responsive to and able to prioritise business needs 

 willing to accept instructions and guidance 

 able to work collaboratively as part of a team, but also comfortable working independently 

 a good active listener, with a cooperative manner and a consultative approach 

 resilient to deal with demanding individuals 

 a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (in particular Word and Excel), with previous experience of a recruitment system being beneficial 

 experience of working in a diverse team whilst fostering an inclusive team culture 

 a high level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of ethics at all times.
