ROLE OVERVIEW 

Our Financing practice is divided into two groups of partners and associates. 

Our Financing practice comprises 17 partners, around 60 associates and 6 PSLs in total. It is divided into two groups which both act for a broad range of clients and handle a variety of types of work, including Debt Capital Markets, Securitisation, Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, Projects and Restructuring and Insolvency. This structure leads to more regular client contact and greater involvement in clients’ broader business interests. 

This role will be focused on Restructuring and Insolvency work. You will be working closely alongside the PSL in the stream but may also be liaising with partners, associates and trainees across the Financing Stream as a whole and elsewhere in the firm. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed; 

 Monitoring legal and market developments 

 Assisting with the production of restructuring and insolvency updates 

 Supporting business development initiatives 

 Legal and market research 

 Updating the practice intranet site 

 Assisting with legal tech projects 

 Gathering know-how and precedents and uploading to the know how systems 

 Organising team meetings and training sessions 

 Assisting with queries from fee earners 

 If required, assisting with certain fee earning tasks 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Candidates for this position will be expected to have worked, or be working, in a similar role within a professional services environment, but that is not essential. However, an interest in, and the enthusiasm to develop knowledge of the restructuring and insolvency area, is essential. We also require candidates to be/have: 

 Strong academic and legal background 

 Excellent organisational skills 

 Self-motivated and able to work independently and pro-actively 

 Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines 

 Strong oral and written communications skills 

 Excellent eye for detail 

 Excellent legal technical knowledge 

 Ability to pick up new legal concepts quickly 

 Good IT skills and an ability to learn new IT systems quickly 

 Experience of working in a diverse team whilst fostering an inclusive team culture 

 High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics
