We are looking for a senior manager to join our London-based Responsible Business team, to drive the implementation of the firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy towards achieving ambitious commitments and targets.

We are looking for a Senior Diversity and Inclusion Manager from a private or public sector background to join our team. This is a permanent, full time or part-time role reporting into the Director of Responsible Business. They will work closely with the senior team, including the D&I partners, and with HR to set the pace and momentum to drive forward the implementation of our ambitious strategy. Our focus is to continue to create change and ownership within the business to achieve stretch targets and to innovate across the key focus areas. They will work with the existing D&I team of two managers and an advisor.
The role is an important element of the Responsible Business function, within the wider Business Services community at the firm’s head office in London.

The Responsible Business function works closely and across all populations and levels within the firm; partners, lawyers, Business Services teams, as well as clients, external organisations and suppliers.
This is an exciting role and provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with a proven track record of creating transformation and change within in a cross matrix organisation to innovate and deliver a high-quality programme in a well-regarded firm.
The key responsibilities of this role are set out below – there may be others which are not listed. Whilst we will consider part-time and full-time applications, the role may require a degree of flexibility from the successful individual, which could include working outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.
Strategy and implementation
Work closely with senior leadership to develop, drive the implementation of the D&I strategy
Responsible for leading on continuous improvement and innovation in the key focus areas
Set goals and deadlines to ensure achievement of delivery against strategy and budget
Leveraging opportunities to further integrate the D&I strategy into the firm’s Responsible Business strategy and across the firm.
Communications and relationships
Manage external stakeholder relationships, including client engagement
Manage multiple senior stakeholder working groups to deliver against action plans and KPIs
Maintain firm’s reputation and profile as a leader in this area
Consulting with our eight employee-led diversity networks for alignment with strategy and actions
Lead on key D&I communications, including benchmarks and awards
Actively manage our relationships with external diversity membership campaigns and charities
Engaging colleagues internationally and collaborating on key initiatives
Knowledge, expertise and skills
Transform subject matter expertise into developing solutions and products that enable change
Be a visible expert point person for D&I across the firm and the source of market best practice/thought leadership
Work in partnership with L&D to deliver best in class D&I curriculum for whole firm
Translating complex data into reports and Key Performance Indicators to monitor performance
Responsible for data insights and reporting, including regular tracking and monitoring
Line management of the D&I team’s two managers, including delivering regular, effective feedback and encouraging their professional development, and conducting mid-year and annual performance reviews
Candidates for this position should have direct or related experience of working in a private or public sector organisation, ideally with previous line management experience.
Change management experience
A confident, engaging communicator and visible advocate for D&I
Significant understanding and experience of D&I and a proven track record of delivering D&I related projects
The ability to think strategically, combined with creativity and imagination to design the implementation of an idea in a commercial environment
Knowledgable on evolving D&I thought leadership and new concepts
Ability to provide D&I best practice advice and apply guidance to strategic opportunities and practical situations
Extremely organised with strong project management experience and proven ability to
manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and of a consistent high quality
Excellent communication skills with evidence of being able to communicate effectively at all levels, especially senior level to get ‘buy-in’ for initiatives
A skilled influencer and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of people
Experience of producing high quality targeted communications
Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and translate data, and produce management information
Strong IT skills, including advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals
High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics
