We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, engaging individual to join us as a Manager, in our London-based Business Intelligence & Pricing Team. 

ROLE OVERVIEW 

We are recruiting for a Manager to join the Business Intelligence & Pricing team within the Finance Department. This is a permanent opportunity. 

This role will work with senior stakeholders across the business, including Partners, Business Development (BD) and Technology (IT) and will report to the Head of Business Intelligence and Pricing. 

This is an analytical role focussed on practice management and development. The successful candidate will help to curate data from various sources and create insightful reporting, presentations and analysis to support decision-making (e.g. strategic business focus, client awareness, matter management) and business operations (e.g. efficiency, productivity). 

The team are recognised as working to an exceptionally high standard. The work will often involve innovative thinking and provide the opportunity to engage closely with individuals from across the business. It will also involve tight deadlines and will stretch the successful candidate’s knowledge and capabilities. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm. 

 Designing dynamic BI dashboards and other core management information reports and driving their build (working closely with the IT team), launch and ongoing usage. 

 Creating ad hoc presentations, data visualisations and reports for various senior stakeholders. Explaining the key takeaways and answering questions about the underlying data. 

 Undertaking in-depth data analysis on strategic business questions. Writing papers or producing and presenting slide decks explaining the findings and recommending potential actions. 

 Acting as a business partner (the key point of contact between the end users and 

Technology), ensuring key requirements are correctly interpreted and successfully implemented. 

 Driving internal efficiencies through the automation of existing financial reports and using data analytics to implement operational process improvements. 

 Acquiring a clear understanding of business objectives and interpreting key trends to deliver thoughtful commercial insight. 

 Advocating for the use of data analytics to aid decision-making and efficiencies across the business. 

 Assisting with pricing proposals and analysis. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Candidates for this position must have: 

 Relevant undergraduate degree, e.g. Maths, Statistics, Computer Science, Chartered Accountancy or Business preferred 

 Excellent financial analysis skills. Accountancy qualifications and awareness of statistical analysis are desirable but not essential 

 Experience of working in a Professional Services environment 

 Experience of management reporting and a good eye for report design bearing in mind the recipient’s objectives. Experience of using visualisation tools, e.g. PowerBI, is beneficial 

 Ability and confidence to present analysis to business leaders articulately and concisely 

 Advanced Excel skills (understanding of macros an advantage but not essential) and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint) 

 A questioning mind (e.g. the ability to spot, and an active desire to rationalise, unexpected quirks in the data) 

 Excellent attention to detail and good use of grammar 

 Interest in exploring innovative data practices, e.g. ML, predictive analytics 

 Ability to “translate” between different teams (e.g. BD, Finance, Technology) and help the collective group achieve its objectives 

 Team player, with the ability to work in an independent manner when required, but also happy to share knowledge and delegate, and be delegated to 

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multi-task, keep calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines. The ability to build strong business relationships with internal clients and the resilience to deal with demanding individuals 

 Experience of working in a diverse team whilst fostering an inclusive team culture 

 A high level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standards of professional ethics.
