We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, engaging individual to join us as a PMO Planning and Delivery Specialist, in our leading London-based Technology Team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are recruiting for an experienced PMO Planning and Delivery Specialist to join the Technology Department on a 1 year fixed-term contract. The role will report into the Head of Change Management. The individual will be responsible for supporting the PMO in delivering the full lifecycle of software delivery related projects, from inception, client engagement stage through to implementation across the firm’s offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.

  • Support the Head of PMO to lead the design and implementation of a common project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects.
  • Drive the design and implementation of a Agile project methodology across the technology and key business areas from requirements and prototyping to Quality Assurance and implementation
  • REPORTING - summarizes information across all projects to provide a high-level view of portfolio status to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • RESOURCE – Detailed resource forecasting and active management. Flawless execution of projects is critical and resource management is a key focus area. This role requires a close working relationship with technology leaders to develop project roadmaps that align with business objectives/priority and takes into account critical resource availability.
  • PROJECT QUALITY ASSURANCE – Assess project and portfolio plans for completeness and quality. This includes regular health checks, early risk and issue identification (and resolution/Go to green planning), documented auditing for project completeness and process/methodology assurance.
  • GOVERNANCE and CONTROL – Setup, own and drive project governance structures, communication and controls. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate techniques aligned to methodology
  • CONTRACTS - Ensure confidentiality and contracts are reviewed at the earliest opportunity to avoid any impact on projects
  • SUPPORT - training and coaching of PMO members to continuously improve core project competencies. Provide support for the use of the Firms project portfolio management software.
  • BUDGET – Provide regular financial reports and budget outlines to senior management including project specific budgeting and cost control.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Candidates for this position must have the following skills:

  • Prince 2 Practitioner/Agile or PMP qualified
  • MS project/Jira and Confluence skills
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Good multi tasker
  • Logical thinking and creative problem-solving ability
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of programme/portfolio level budget control
  • Proven ability to work well with others and lead a team
  • Good IT skills in particular legal software, including the following:
  • Microsoft Office
  • Document Management
  • Practice / portfolio Management
  • Displays the highest standard of professional ethics
