Where you'll work 

The IS department consists of over thirty staff, eleven of whom work on the Service Desk.  This is a new role, aimed at taking on responsibility of various admin type tasks, thereby relieving the pressure on the Service Desk analysts.  The bulk of the work will be focused on the areas listed below, and will involve some first and second line support when required.  This is an office-based role but some limited remote working is permitted.

What you'll be doing

Starters/Leavers/Transfers

The creation of new joiner accounts which involves, but is not limited to the following applications and platforms:

  • Exchange 2016 and Exchange online
  • Active Directory – Users and Computers
  • Office 365
  • Endpoint Manager
  • Microsoft MFA
  • Bighand Administration
  • Avaya and Redcentric telephone systems
  • Mimecast Administration Console
  • Exchange Management Shell
  • Filesite Database Administration Console
  • BlackBerry UEM
  • Sunrise Sostenuto (Service Desk software)
  • Processing Leavers accounts and associated admin (including equipment return and asset management)
  • Processing user transfers/office moves and associated admin
  • Assistance with quarterly Trainee moves
  • Name changes and associated admin

Asset Management of user related hardware (Laptops and Mobile phones)

  • Manage the building, issuing, tracking and return of laptops and mobile phones for new joiners, leavers etc and replacement of damaged hardware.
  • Maintain the sunrise "Items" service in relation to Asset Management

HighQ Datarooms and Document Exchanges

  • Assist with the creation and removal of HighQ Datarooms and temporary Document Exchange folders

Data Exports/Imports

  • Filesite Export Assist (bulk exports for transfer)
  • Filesite Bulk imports

Secondary responsibilities

Working as part of the Service Desk team to provide support for the Firm’s IT systems (when time permits:

  • Providing first line (within timescales) and some second line support, resolving difficulties that users may experience in the operation of the Firm’s applications.
  • Provide application and systems support to users both over the telephone and in person.
  • Provide hardware support and rectifying any faults where practical. 
  • Liaising with second line and other IS team members and managing the escalation process. 
  • Liaising with some third-party suppliers where necessary
  • Assisting users to maximise their use of existing facilities.

Experience

  • Microsoft Certified Professional or other relevant qualification/experience desirable
  • Must have experience with Office 365 and Windows 10 OS
  • Must have experience of Microsoft Azure processes, EndPoint Manager and MFA
  • Possess a very good technical understanding of the basic hardware and applications in use, including:
  • Administrator tools including Active Directory; Exchange; Powershell; SCCM
  • Sunrise (Sostenuto) or similar Service Desk call logging software
  • Desktops/laptops running Windows 10
  • PC, Laptop and printer hardware including HP and MS Surface Pro
  • iManage / Worksite DMS (Filesite v9)
  • iPhone administration with BlackBerry Work/UEM
  • Citrix Remote Access and MFA administration
  • HighQ Data-room administration
  • Very strong technical knowledge of MS Office
  • At least 12 months previous experience in a similar /Service Desk role in the Legal sector is desirable
