Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Business Development Event Producer to work with our Business Development (BD) and Events teams to guide and direct the delivery of key client events in a hybrid way and in our new virtual event studio.

Reporting into the Head of Client Services and the Co-head of Global Client Development, this role will help us develop, plan and deliver best in class hybrid and virtual events, getting the best out of our newly installed hybrid events studio and online platforms. Working closely with the BD, Events and AV teams, the role holder will:

  • Understand how to translate the strategic requirements for an event into delivery;
  • Map out what a first-class hybrid event should look and feel like at Slaughter and May;
  • Help plan and deliver the various work streams required to deliver such an event, in our hybrid events studio;
  • Have the quality of client experience at the forefront of all planning; and
  • Develop a deep understanding of our event platforms, channels and formats.

Key responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are set out below and there may be others which are not listed. You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm.

  • Work with BD, Events and AV to create a guidance manual for delivering first-class events in our newly installed hybrid events studio and with online platforms (e.g. Hopin)
  • Work closely with AV to fully understand the capabilities that we have and, as a result, promote our offering package to the wider stakeholder groups
  • Be the conduit between BD and Events in helping to shape the content that informs our events
  • Ensure our BD client event objectives are met through our newly improved event proposition
  • Support and direct events alongside the Event Lead in the hybrid events studio
  • Research external high quality and innovative examples of hybrid events, and discover internally the art of the possible
  • Guide and advise senior management outside of BD on how to deliver first-class events in the hybrid events studio
  • Report back regularly to the Director of BD and Director of Facilities on progress, ideas and challenges - ensuring always that the ‘client experience’ informs our approach and delivery

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Candidates for this position must have:

  • BD led events experience
  • An understanding of how content is used within events
  • Previous knowledge and experience of multi format hybrid events
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build cross team relationships
  • The ability to anticipate issues and address them ahead of time
  • Experience of working in a diverse team whilst fostering an inclusive team culture
  • High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics.
