Job Details

Are you an IT Trainer or think you have what it takes to be an IT Trainer? We're currently looking for someone to join our Learning Technologies Specialist team, ideally in Newcastle, Bristol or Plymouth but we will consider applications for our Leeds and Southampton offices. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role

This is an interesting and varied role where no two days will be the same:

  • You'll be responsible for scheduling and delivering IT training during the induction process of all new employees, using a virtual training room
  • You'll deliver group and one-to-one training for existing employees as well as providing post-course support as required
  • You will have the opportunity to design and deliver live Webinars using MS Teams or WebEx
  • Your role will involve working with our current Learning Technology Specialists to administer the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Having a blended approach to training, you will design, create, and maintain interactive and engaging eLearning, giving you exposure to a range of software, which will be housed on the LMS
  • We have amazing colleagues who have a wealth of knowledge therefore you will work closely with and support subject matter experts in the creation of learning materials when required
  • Working alongside the Learning Technologies Team Leader, you'll work with the Programme Management Unit during the business readiness and implementation stages of new, or upgrading of existing, IT systems to determine the appropriate level of training and communication
  • You'll provide support to the IT Service Desk typically with their "How do I" questions
  • The role will allow you the flexibility to innovate using your own skills as well as working collaboratively with the wider team

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone with an outgoing personality who has enthusiasm and a real passion for delivering technology training.  You should have the ability to embrace new software and technologies in a time sensitive manner and the appetite to continuously develop your own skills.

As you'll be working and interacting with lots of people around the business you should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

It would be great if you have knowledge of o365 as well as experience of designing and creating training material.  Previous experience of working in the legal sector would be advantages but by no means necessary.

It would be beneficial to have a training or teaching qualification such as TAP or COLF but not essential. A MOS certification would be desirable.

The team

First-class IT systems are absolutely key to the success of any business in today's commercial world and the legal sector is no exception. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of technological advancements within the legal profession, something we've become so well known for. To remain competitive in our markets, and to continue supporting our growth strategies, our team of dedicated IT professionals have a key role to play, ensuring the integrity of the IT infrastructure, development of new systems and excellent support to all of our employees, and clients.

Sitting within our wider IT team is our IT Training team who are there to support us in our day to day work. The team offers an extensive range of blended IT Training from bespoke legal software to o365 applications in both a virtual classroom and an interactive e-learning environment.
