Job Details

We are seeking a Wealth Planner to join our Private Wealth team in Newcastle who operate as part of Womble Bond Dickinson Wealth Limited and have a solid reputation for providing creative financial planning, legal and tax solutions and investment advice to a wide range of both corporate and private clients.

The team

Our Private Wealth team are a collaboration of lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and tax specialists. Their expertise are highly regarded and ensure that our clients' wealth is protected, now and for future generations. For law firms, this is a pretty unique setup which allows us to offer our clients the very best full-service advice possible.

The role

We are seeking a Paraplanner (Wealth Planner) to join our Private Wealth team in Newcastle who operate as part of Womble Bond Dickinson Wealth Limited and have a solid reputation for providing creative financial planning, legal and tax solutions and investment advice to a wide range of both corporate and private clients.

Our Wealth Planners have a crucial role in supporting the advisers, and on a day-to-day basis you'll attend client meetings, act as a key point of contact for clients, undertake research into financial products, prepare and present lifetime cashflow analysis, develop solutions and draft recommendation reports and letters. You'll also be involved in implementing those recommendations and regularly reviewing client portfolios. Much of our work is done in close collaboration with lawyers and accountants in the wider private client team, which allows us to formulate complex and holistic advice for clients which factors in the full range of financial planning, legal and tax issues.

Most of our team have developed through our internal training programme and this is something that we feel passionately about, which is great news for you if you are still in the early stages of your career.

The candidate

So, what are we looking for? Ideally, you'll have experience working within an investment / financial planning environment and will hold RO1 to RO6 as a minimum. A 2.1 or above at degree level is desirable, but by no means an absolute requirement.

This is a busy team and you'll need to be prepared to work under pressure with a high volume of work. We operate in a highly procedural environment, shaped by the practices of a law firm as well as the usual FCA regulations, so a good grasp of processes and procedures is required. Your communication skills will be first-class, both written and verbal, and you'll have excellent technical knowledge, plus experience in recommending investments, pensions, and life assurance. Familiarity with a wide range of IT packages is expected, including Microsoft Office, plus ideally (though not essential) Intelliflo and Voyant or other cashflow analysis tools.
