The Singapore FIRA team is part of the wider CMS Funds Group that comprises over 100 funds specialists across nearly 20 jurisdictions. CMS itself is the fifth largest law firm in the world by number of lawyers with nearly 5,000 lawyers working across 77 offices worldwide.

About You
We are looking for an accomplished and confident senior associate who can take the lead on high profile fund launches, fund investments and joint ventures.

We expect you to be technically strong with solid experience gained in a leading funds team. We have a deep and varied practice and from day one you will need to be keen to work outside your comfort zone, including across sectors and time zones and on new and developing areas of law and technology. The clients that you will work for will include institutional investors, fund managers and MNCs, as well as entrepreneurs, tech platforms and first time fund managers. Rest assured that more often than not the work will be both technical and challenging. We want you to be intrinsically involved in the success and development of the team, the office and the firm. We will offer you first class training and support in all of the above. International training opportunities are available and encouraged in normal (non-Covid) circumstances.

Our ideal candidate would:

- have experience of advising both GPs and LPs in connection with private funds matters
- have had exposure to the real estate, PE and/or tech and VC sectors
- have worked on a range of funds structures, including limited partnerships, VCCs, trusts and corporate funds, as well as cross-border JVs and club funds
- have worked as part of a high performing team on large international funds or structured real estate / corporate transactions
- be comfortable developing their own profile in the market, as well as championing the FIRA SG team both within CMS and in the wider market
- be Singapore qualified
- have a life outside of the office (really)
