Department/Role overview:
We have an opportunity for a strategic, proactive, creative and highly organised communications professional to join our global internal communications team, based in London.
This role is responsible for the strategic oversight, planning and implementation of internal communications and employee engagement across our UK, EMEA and US offices.
Working closely with the global Head of Internal Communications and key stakeholders within the firm, you will play a crucial role in delivering the global internal communications strategy, and addressing the needs of the local offices within your portfolio.
You will implement tactical plans to increase employee engagement, leveraging a variety of communications channels and resources available to you within the firm.
Main responsibilities:
The role is responsible for:
- Driving and leading internal communications for a variety of internal audiences and stakeholders across Ashurst's UK, EMEA & US offices.
- Developing and executing internal campaigns to engage our people in our business strategy and priorities.
- Supporting global internal communications campaigns as required.
- Playing a key role in executing the global internal communications strategy.
- Ensuring communications are aligned with Ashurst's vision, values and brand.
- Utilising relevant channels and tools to ensure communications are targeted and meaningful.
- Although the role has a UK/EMEA & US focus, you will have the opportunity to lead specific global communication initiatives and projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Design and execute communication campaigns and experiences that bring our people together in new and engaging ways.
- Develop internal communication strategies and plans for internal audiences, to meet specified communication objectives.
- Develop campaign narratives that support the firm's strategy, culture and vision.
- Support the deployment of global programs by developing internal communications that inspire and drive awareness, participation and action, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assemble, source and produce written and visual content for internal communication channels, including the intranet, regular newsletters and office town halls.
- Ensure communication plans are clearly aligned to specific business objectives.
- Ensure communication channels are relevant and impactful and add value.
- Provide communication support and guidance to senior stakeholders, and advise on effective communication techniques.
- Identify and resolve messaging or timing conflicts around communications.
- Work across multiple projects creating a cohesive story for different audiences.
- Coach and mentor an Internal Communications Executive based in Glasgow.

- A passionate storyteller, always looking for new and interesting ways to engage employees on Ashurst's business priorities.
- A strong writer that can adapt content to different mediums.
- Eye for visuals and ability to create dynamic content.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Highly proactive.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Comfortable working with teams in different geographic locations and time zones.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, marketing or similar field.
- Video and / or podcast production, including generating ideas for stories, and ability to brief suppliers to bring these to life.
Desired skills and experience:
- In-house experience in professional or financial services
- CMS and/or SharePoint experience
