Team overview:

Our team, of over 60 project finance lawyers, provides leading companies and financial institutions with incisive, commercial advice on some of the most challenging projects in the world. We operate a global network, working with sponsors, lenders and developers to deliver complex projects through innovative solutions to their most challenging issues. Over the last three years, we have advised on more than 100 projects globally, equating to more than $70bn of financing.

Job overview:

We are looking for a mid level Associate with experience in project finance. You will assist in advising on all aspects of the financing ranging from negotiating a long-form term sheet and advising on the finance and security documents and helping project manage and co-ordinating working with other practices and lawyers within the firm including corporate, derivatives and tax.

You will need to be experienced and comfortable with legal and commercial principles relating to security, guarantees, financial covenants, intercreditor terms as well as standard representations, covenants and events of default.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Post qualification experience in project finance with a reputable international law firm.
  • Experience advising clients within the renewables, transport or infrastructure sectors.
  • Good organisational skills and experience in transaction management.
  • Excellent academic track record.
  • Enthusiasm for intellectually challenging work.
  • Excellent client relationship skills and experience of business development.
  • An enthusiastic team-player who can work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and expand technical knowledge beyond core transactional skills.
  • Excellence in attention to detail, identifying inconsistencies that indicate problems with quality of work or misunderstanding of client's needs.
