We looking for a professional, engaging individual to join us as a Business Development Content Manager, as part of our family leave cover for the Head of Content. The role will be within our London-based Business Development Team and will provide support to deliver the firm’s content strategy.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are recruiting a Business Development Content Manager who will work alongside the Director of Business Development, Head of Comms and Co-Heads of the Global Client Development team to deliver the firm’s content strategy. In addition, the candidate will work closely with the BD Programme Manager who has worked to date with the Head of Content in developing and delivering the firm’s content strategy.

The successful candidate will also work closely with the the Digital and Design teams, videographers, professional support lawyers and other fee earners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Content Manager will be responsible for executing on key elements of the firm’s content strategy, including our Horizon Scanning programme. The role requires versatility and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and relationships at one time.

You may be required on occasion to work outside our normal working hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm. Key responsibilities of this role will include some or all of the following:

  • Scoping content pieces by converting ideas into tangible thought leadership with clear client objectives.
  • Editing and proofreading key thought leadership pieces.
  • Advising the client development team and PSLs on the best platforms and channels to use for content based on the BD objective.
  • Supporting and developing practice and firm wide campaigns with a commercial and global angle.
  • Driving forward delivery of the content under the Horizon Scanning Programme.
  • Writing and editing distribution copy for content pieces including email, social posts, internal comms, promo videos, blogs and stories.
  • Consolidating the use of new channels and formats across different practices.
  • Working with the Communications team to spot PR opportunities on the back of thought leadership pieces.
  • Reporting and measuring ROI on key pieces of content and campaigns
  • Delivering this analysis to wider forums across the firm
  • Running monthly content meetings with the PSL community
  • Monitoring and coordinating the content distribution pipeline with the Digital team to avoid clashes.
  • Monitoring market, industry and competitor information and feeding it into the content strategy.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Candidates for this position must have:

  • Degree-educated or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong BD content experience, most recently at a senior executive or manager level in legal or professional services.
  • Editing and proofreading skills, including excellent attention to detail and good use of grammar.
  • Proven track record of scoping and delivering cross-practice content campaigns with clear client objectives.
  • Understanding of key economic and market trends.
  • Proactive approach to defining needs and delivering solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, confidence to develop strong working relationships with fee earners and members of the BD team.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables within a tight timeframe and deliver high quality work.
  • Ability to manage and analyse large amounts of data, and identify trends within it.
  • Ability to be proactive, entrepreneurial and self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, spoken and presentational).
  • Proactive approach to defining needs and delivering solutions.
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external clients and the resilience to deal with demanding individuals.
  • Willingness to foster an inclusive team culture.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity; displays the highest standard of professional ethics.
