About the RoleOur Insurance Advisory team is looking to recruit a new associate/senior associate to assist with our wide range of complex, high value matters for insurance market players. You will have the opportunity to work with an enviable client base, including many of the leading insurers and major brokers. The team are known for being highly commercial in their advice and offer the prospect of working closely with key clients, alongside being encouraged to develop your own contacts/network in the market.

Our Insurance Advisory team advises on a wide range of insurance market documentation including drafting and advising on binding authority agreements, claims handling agreements, TPA agreements, service level agreements and terms of business agreements. We also advise on captive and reinsurance arrangements and structures. We work closely with our regulatory and data protection colleagues to provide a seamless service.

The Insurance Advisory team sits within our busy and growing Insurance & Reinsurance Group. Key areas of work include wide ranging professional indemnity disputes (particularly defending claims against finance professionals, solicitors, insurance brokers and construction professionals), financial lines, marine, healthcare, defendant clinical and professional risks as well as complex policy coverage matters, reinsurance and cyber risks and insurance advisory (including drafting and advising on binding authority agreements, claims handling agreements, service agreements and TOBAs).

There is the opportunity to specialise in Insurance Advisory, as well as to gain exposure to claims if that is of interest.


About YouThe right individual will have 2 PQE+ gained at a City, insurance, major regional or leading international firm with strong experience advising clients in major insurance undertakings.

You will have excellent drafting skills and the ability to translate legal theory into practical, commercial advice.

Due to the role being client facing you will need to have sound judgement and good interpersonal and project management skills.
