We have a brand new opportunity to join our esteemed Private Wealth team in Bristol or Newcastle. Working as part of our Tax & Trust Accounts team as a Trust Accounts Apprentice, you'll take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, preparing trustees' Trust accounts and tax returns.
Our Private Wealth team is a collaboration of lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and tax specialists. Their expertise is highly regarded and ensures that our clients' wealth is protected, now and for future generations. For law firms, this is a pretty unique setup which allows us to offer our clients the very best full-service advice possible.
Reporting to a Trust Accounts Manager, you will provide general support to other members of the team. You can expect to be involved in a broad range of tasks which might include bank reconciliations, processing of outgoing electronic payments, preparation of trust accounts and tax returns for review, dealing with the day to day affairs of your client portfolio, ensuring that engagement letters are in place for clients, and that fees are agreed and billed accordingly. You'll also assist other members of the team in the overall management of client affairs.
What are we looking for?
Whilst experience isn't essential, what is important to us is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Professional communication is an essential part of this role, so a confident telephone manner and personable approach are both required. You'll also need to be able to work closely with your team members in delivering a first class service to our clients. A working knowledge and understanding of trust accounts would also be useful, but we can support you with training in this area.
As well as the above, strong IT skills are a must, along with a meticulous and detailed approach to any task undertaken.
What is in it for you?
Whilst this is an entry level role, we're committed to developing all of our people and we're keen to support you through the apprenticeship scheme. This could see you progressing further within the Tax & Trust Accounts team. There's a lot to get your teeth into and some fantastic opportunities for anyone looking for a unique, challenging and supportive environment.
