Job Details

We're currently looking for an IT Trainer to join our Learning Technologies Specialist team in Newcastle or Bristol. The position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.

The team

First-class IT systems are absolutely key to the success of any business in today's commercial world and the legal sector is no exception. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of technological advancements within the legal profession, something we've become so well known for. To remain competitive in our markets, and to continue supporting our growth strategies, our team of dedicated IT professionals have a key role to play, ensuring the integrity of the IT infrastructure, development of new systems and excellent support to all of our employees, and clients.

Sitting within our wider IT team is our IT Training team who are there to support us in our day to day work. The team offers an extensive range of blended IT Training from bespoke legal software to Microsoft Office 365 applications in both a virtual classroom and an interactive e-learning environment.

The role

This is an interesting and varied role where no two days will be the same.  You'll be responsible for scheduling and delivering IT training during the induction process of all new employees, using a virtual training room, and delivering group and one-to-one training for existing employees, providing post-course support as required. You'll also design and deliver live Webinars using MS Teams or WebEx.

We've got a fantastic Learning Management System (LMS) that's available to all employees. Part of your role will involve working with our current Learning Technology Specialists to administer the LMS as well as designing, creating, and maintaining interactive and engaging eLearning, using software such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud and Snagit, which will be housed on the LMS. You will also assist subject matter experts in the creation of learning materials when required.

You'll work closely with the Programme Management Unit during the business readiness and implementation stages of new, or upgrading of existing, IT systems to determine the appropriate level of training and communication.  The Learning Technology Specialists team also provide support to the IT Service Desk typically with their "How do I" questions.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone with an outgoing personality who has a real passion for learning and improving adoption of IT systems.

It goes without saying that you'll need excellent working knowledge of Windows and O365 as well as previous experience of designing and creating training material. We're looking for someone who has at least one years' experience of delivering IT training. It would be great if you've gained this experience whilst working within the legal sector, but this is by no means necessary.

It would be beneficial to have a teaching or training qualification such as TAP or COLF and a MOS certification would be desirable.

As you'll be working and interacting with lots of people around the business you should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
