Job Details

We've got an exciting opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join our IT Service Desk team based in our Plymouth office.

Introducing the IT team

First-class IT systems are absolutely key to the success of any business in today's commercial world and the legal sector is no exception.  Our IT team have worked exceptionally hard to enable our business to adapt fully to the virtual working world and we're very lucky to have such a great team.  Womble Bond Dickinson prides itself on being at the forefront of technological advancements within the legal profession, something we've become so well known for. To remain competitive in our markets, and to continue supporting our growth strategies, our team of dedicated IT professionals have a key role to play, ensuring the integrity of the IT infrastructure, development of new systems and excellent support to all of our employees, and clients.

So what's the Service Desk?

Our Service Desk team are the people we phone or email when we first discover we have an IT problem. They're always so helpful, patient and good at problem solving. It may be re-setting a password, resolving access issues, unlocking a document through to arranging for new equipment or resolving a complex workflow issue.

What will you be doing?

Our IT apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain a formal IT qualification (Level 3 Information Communication Technician) as well as receiving paid on-the-job training. You'll be supported by Andy, our Service Desk Supervisor, and Louis, our Level 2 Team Leader, and work closely with Steve who will be your mentor.

By supporting the Service Desk team you will learn IT principles and practices, develop first class customer service skills and build effective relationships with people across the firm. You'll also log requests, help with any office moves, assist with the initial set up of new user accounts and equipment and help with new software upgrades.

This list is by no means exhaustive so you'll have lots to get your teeth stuck in too. Most importantly you'll participate in the wider IT team supporting the business.

There will also be the opportunity to travel to other UK offices when safe to do so – getting to know the wider IT Team and firm, supporting other offices during rollouts and holiday cover for the level 2 team.
