Job Details

We have a newly created opportunity for a Learning & Development Advisor to join our HR team in Bristol on a full-time, permanent basis.

The team

As a firm, we invest heavily in learning and development and are committed to supporting all our people to develop a rounded skill set to deliver for our clients and fulfil their potential.

This means we offer a range of innovative career development initiatives and see high levels of engagement in learning from our Lawyers, Private Wealth specialists, Business Support professionals and Secretaries.

The L&D team have a key role to play - they are a small team with a big remit, which is to drive a learning culture and support behavioural change, through a range of learning initiatives.  The programmes that they design and in some cases deliver, develop core business and personal skills, support key career transitions and skills for today's leaders. In addition, they also lead on talent management, as well as the overall L&D strategy and organisational change projects.

The role

This is a brand new role within the team so you'll have plenty of opportunities to really make it your own.

You'll play a key role, designing content, using a variety of software to produce and edit resources for our learning.  Some of our programmes you will deliver yourself and in others you'll play a supporting role with the opportunity to grow and take on more as your career develops.  We also work with a number of external providers who are experts in their field so you will be able to learn from them and our internal Learning and Development Managers, who will rely on you for facilitation support.  We support seven offices in the UK and whilst we are currently delivering virtually, we will move to a more blended approach with some face to face delivery when safe to do so.

We've recently introduced a new online learning portal, and you'll help promote this across the business to ensure all of our employees are aware of the learning material available to them. You'll become a champion for all that the Learning & Development team do. There is a whole wealth of projects you can get involved in which will really add value to our business and develop you as an individual.

What are we looking for?

The legal sector has a unique structure, so experience of working in a partnership environment within law or professional services is helpful.  You'll have previous experience in Learning and Development which will include helping to design and deliver business and personal skills programmes in a variety of settings (formal programmes, team days, workshops) and you'll want to do more of this.  You'll understand how people learn, and the importance of creating learning solutions which are outcome-focused to drive benefits for individuals, teams and our business.

We're looking for someone who seeks to build relationships and communicates effectively with colleagues at all levels in the business as well as external providers – this will be key for gaining credibility at senior levels within our business. We practice what we preach, so you'll need to be curious and always looking to learn and embrace new ways of working and new technology.  A team player, who can "think outside of the box" and brings a 'can do' professional approach to their work.

Who are we?
