Excellent opportunity for an ambitious Competition Associate to join one of the largest Competition teams in Europe at a future facing, international law firm.

About CMS
CMS is a Future Facing firm. With 75 offices in 43 countries and 4,800+ lawyers worldwide, we combine deep sector understanding with a global overview, giving us the ability not only to see what's coming, but to shape it.

CMS is well equipped to help our clients face the future with confidence. We are driven by technology and readily embrace the possibilities it opens up for developing new and better ways of delivering legal services. Our bold approach to a changing future ensures that we nurture our employees and recruit top talent.

About the Role
Our Competition and Trade team handles a broad range of high-quality work including EU and UK mergers, competition investigations, competition litigation, behavioural advice and a wide range of regulatory and trade work. The team also advises extensively on public procurement matters, state aid and CMA consumer enforcement issues.

The team is currently expanding and we are looking for a motivated, ambitious associate to be based in our London office. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for competition and regulatory law, and with an interest in working closely with our highly rated Technology, Media, Life sciences and Energy teams where we are seeing a continued increase in competition-related instructions.

The Competition and Trade team consists of 4 partners and a team of 13 other fee-earners (and two trainees) based largely in London, but also in Edinburgh and Brussels. It is part of a wider Competition Group across CMS consisting of more than 225 competition lawyers worldwide. This is therefore an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career in a dynamic and internationally-focused competition team, with a balanced practice across transactional, contentious and advisory work.

Associates are encouraged to take on high levels of responsibility and client contact is encouraged. From day one your role will include business development activities within the team and across the firm's sector groups. The team undertakes a significant amount of cross-border work, cooperating on a daily basis with our international offices and the role will include travel. We are committed to investing in our team and we provide comprehensive training to develop knowledge and skills.

About YouThe ideal candidate will:
