As an Adaptive consultant, you will be fully supported by the Simmons & Simmons team with a sponsoring Partner and a client team with whom we would encourage you to engage on a regular basis. You will have access to the firm's resources and know- how and have the opportunity to be involved in training and development at the Firm.

Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive are looking to hear from consultants who are available to take up an interim Contracts Manager position.

The role will ask the consultant to provide general and clinical trial contract advice, to draft and review agreements that relate to clinical trials and to analyse levels of risk in said contracts and manage that appropriately.

You will be working closely with study groups to ensure the clinical trials contracts meet regulatory requirements and you will be building upon these relationships to develop what type of contract management is required, including intellectual property protection.

Person specification:

  • Legal qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law and an understanding and knowledge of clinical trials
  • Recent practical experience of successfully drafting, negotiating, and concluding contracts
  • Experience working in the NHS, higher education, pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors is advantageous
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and an ability to negotiate and influence effectively
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good IT skills
  • An understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the legal risk associated with clinical trials
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively as part of the team and under pressure
