Our Real Estate Finance Team is one of most highly regarded in the market, working with leading clients. We are looking to add to our established team in Scotland.

About CMS
CMS is a Future Facing firm. With 75 offices in 43 countries and 4,800+ lawyers worldwide, we combine deep sector understanding with a global overview, giving us the ability not only to see what's coming, but to shape it.

CMS is well equipped to help our clients face the future with confidence. We are driven by technology and readily embrace the possibilities it opens up for developing new and better ways of delivering legal services. Our bold approach to a changing future ensures that we nurture our employees and recruit top talent.

About the Role
CCMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang is one of the UK's leading law firms. Our real estate finance group combines the expertise of banking, real estate and construction practices acting for a wide variety of domestic and international clients, including financiers, banks, developers and funds on all aspects of real estate investment and development financings and across all sectors including hotels, student accommodation, renewables, the private rented sector, offices, retail and logistics. We provide real estate advice and support across all of these areas, as well as leading on a number of deals.
This opportunity is your chance to become part of this well-established team.
You will work with high profile and varied clients with the opportunity to build upon the existing strong client base to develop successful relationships. The role will include a wide spectrum of real estate work in connection with the financing of acquisitions, developments, refinancings, renewables projects, portfolio acquisitions etc. It will also involve inputting into the drafting and negotiating of the real estate aspects of the finance documentation and liaising with colleagues with banking, construction, planning or tax expertise. We work on transactions across Scotland, England and Wales, therefore whilst being dual qualified is not a requirement, an interest in working on transactions involving assets in England and Wales and a desire to develop your skills and knowledge in other jurisdictions is key.

About You
Given the nature of the work and the role, we anticipate that candidates will need to have the equivalent of 2-4 years' relevant pqe to meet the demands of the role.
CMS is known for its strong client relationships and the successful candidate will have plenty of client contact and will be expected to be good at developing close links with clients. Good interpersonal and consultancy skills are also essential.

Company

CMS is a future facing international law firm. With 75 offices in 43 countries and 4,800+ lawyers worldwide, and home to business services colleagues across everything from Information Technology, Human Resources and Innovation to Finance, Diversity & Inclusion and Communications.  The firm’s core purpose is to build rewarding futures for its clients, people and communities.

In a world of ever-accelerating change where technology is increasingly important in the deployment of global strategies, every team at CMS is empowered to operate and innovate in ways that best meet clients’ needs. We encourage ideas from every corner of our business. We are also committed to addressing our own impact on the environment and approach to sustainability, as well as advising clients with their related legal needs.

We take the same approach with our colleagues: we pride ourselves on fostering a workplace where everyone is encouraged to speak up, share ideas, seek advice and where ability and commitment is recognised by rapid progression.

At CMS, a next-generation mindset is woven into all we do.  We're diverse, supportive and inclusive, embracing our corporate social responsibility and creating a culture of sustainability in which every one of our people, whatever their background, can maximise their potential and thrive.

Whatever your specialism, and whether you’re a lawyer or a business services professional, a career at CMS gives you huge scope to carve out a brilliant career as you help us, and our clients, to face the future with confidence.
