Senior PR Executive - 12 month fixed term contract (to start asap)
- Full time, but may consider a 4-day week
- Bristol-based (combination of home and office working as required)
We're looking to recruit a Senior PR Executive to cover the maternity leave of a pivotal role in our Marketing and Communications team. You'll be responsible for the day to day running of the firm's Press Office, providing a fast and effective media handling and response service and working to build the firm's profile in key areas through campaigns.
What does the role look like?
Well, no two days look the same! As you would expect, you'll be drafting press releases, by-lines and comments to ensure our key messages are reaching external audiences. In doing this you will build relationships with key journalists, particularly in the legal media, in our target regions and sectors. We'll expect you to seek out news stories from around the business and proactively look for feature and article opportunities within target publications. You'll also research, write and edit awards submissions in support of our legal teams and other business services operations, as well as our responsible business initiatives.
Outside of this, you will also work with the wider Marketing and Communications team on campaigns that combine PR, advertising, events, design, digital and client communications elements. This will give you a fantastic opportunity to work directly with partners to deliver high quality PR activity designed to promote and reinforce the firm's reputation. You'll also work with the internal communications manager to make sure that internal and external messages are consistent and aligned.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
Ideally you will have worked either in a law or professional services firm, or your background could have been within a PR agency in a similar role. You'll have a proven track record in media relations, digital media and copywriting. You'll also have experience of handling crisis PR and be able to offer great advice when it's needed. With so many parts of the business to look after, it's crucial that you can handle a fast moving 'to do' list with attention to detail and a sense of urgency. You'll be a confident networker, able to quickly build good working relationships.
