So what will you be doing?

With no two claims the same in this varied role you'll work on disputes across multiple professions as well as policy coverage investigations. You'll defend claims against all types of professionals and advise them on their insurers on policy coverage. You'll also have the opportunity to undertake D&O/FI work. You'll develop contact and relationships with insurer clients and assist in the long term development of the business. Plus there's the opportunity, from time to time, for client secondments which will help you to better understand our clients' commercial endeavours.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll have at least three years' experience in professional indemnity, D&O/FI or commercial litigation work ideally gained at a large regional or city firm and your experience of insurance policy coverage issues will give your application a distinct advantage. You'll show strong academic ability, a thorough approach to complex legal analysis with swift assimilation of complicated sets of facts. Your written advice will be fluent and concise and your high level of commerciality will enable you to address the client's overall objectives. Strong interpersonal skills will give you the ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with the different interests of insurers and insureds and to build strong relationships with clients.
